On Wednesday, January 31st, the 2nd year students, who are graduating from Nishinihon International Education Institute in this March, created their graduation memento.
Nishinihon International Education Institute gives the Fukuoka’s traditional pottery “koishiwarayaki” to our students as graduation memento. Students design and paint on the plate by themselves.
Mr. Ota, a potter of Chikuzen koishiwarayaki, came to our school and shaped ceramics on a pottery wheel in front of our students just like every year.
The students were so interested in how this mud becomes a plate that the sound of handclaps could spread in the room while his performance.
After that, every student painted on their plate and made only one plate in the world.
It will be baked and come to our students as graduation memento on the day of their graduation ceremony. We hope the pottery reminds of the memory spending in Nishinihon International Education Institute even after they have graduated from our school.
